M. Lê Thị (1001060009) is a 50-year-old woman living in the town of Nghi Lộc. She is married and has 3 adult children. To making a living, M. owns & operates a business venture in the retail sector running a general store. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes from selling both food & daily use products in the local community. M. has been engaged in this business for over 10 years and earns approximately 3,000,000 Vietnamese Dong (about US $170) a month from these activities.

In 2001, M. joined TYM Fund to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. M. has successfully repaid a previous loan of 10,000,000 dong from TYM Fund. This previous loan was used to invest in expanding the business. M. is now requesting a new loan of 15,000,000 dong which will be used to purchase additional products to sell. The loan will be the 8th loan she has taken out from TYM Fund. M. plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.
