A loan of $1,025 helped buy a moto-car.

Baleria's story

Baleria is 37 years old and lives with her husband and two children, who she greatly adores and for whom she sacrifices on a daily basis. She has worked for four years selling cosmetics, a job that she does with much joy, as she has the chance to make a good income. In order to increase her sales, she has to go out and visit her friends and relatives, who are her regular clients. She does this work from 9am until 6pm, and she becomes very tired from the long distances that she must travel, trying to make the trips quickly so she can arrive home with time to support her children’s educational activities. For this reason she has decided to use her savings of many years to buy a moto-car which she will use for public transport. She will administer the earnings from her home, and in this way will have extra income, which will make up for the additional time that she will dedicate to her family without having to leave to sell her cosmetics. This is her first individual loan, but she continues working happily with the communal bank, Kiva partner Microfinanzas Prisma, to which she has belonged for many years and where she is very committed to the growth of the group. With the 3,000 soles that she is requesting she will buy a moto-car that she needs to move ahead with her projects.
