A loan of $525 helped to buy wool.

Bonifacia's story

Bonifacia is a hard working and determined 51 year old woman. She lives in the house she owns with her beloved 11 year old son Brando. She wants to give Brando a good education.

When she left her beloved Pucara (District of Puno) to go to Juliaca, she was only 17 years old. However, she brought with her the strong desire to improve her condition. It was then that she decided to work in the trade that her parents had taught her. From that time on, weaving has been her fundamental activity and the principle source of income.

She has been weaving for 33 years and continues weaving with the same enthusiasm as when she started. This love for her craft is reflected in her weaving, which helps them sell quickly. Bonifacia really enjoys weaving because it distracts her from her problems. Her greatest wish is that her business prospers and that she'll have a handicraft store where she can better serve her customers.

This is her third loan with MFP. She wants to repay all of the installments because she knows that she has assumed a responsibility with her community bank and with herself. With the requested loan for 1500 Nuevos Soles, she will buy more wool and in that way be able to increase her production capacity.
