A loan helped to pay her tuition fees.

Priscilla's story

Priscilla is a second-year polytechnic student at Kumasi Polytechnic in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She is pursuing a three-year program, leading to a higher national diploma award in purchasing and supply. Prior to applying for this loan, her fees were paid with assistance from her mother. In the next five to 10 years, as the eldest child in her family, she wants to help her siblings financially to get a better education.

Priscilla's choice of profession is the result of her interest in becoming a procurement officer in the future. She was inspired by her cousin and herself to further her education after completing secondary school. She says, "If I did not have access to this loan, it [would] be difficult for me to continue my education, as my mother who has been paying my fees is not well, and my father is also struggling to cater for my siblings financially." She adds, a lot of students who complete secondary school are willing to further their education, but their parents and guardians cannot afford it.

This loan is special because:

It covers tuition costs of low-income students and offers flexible repayment.
