A loan of $950 helped increase working capital.

Josefa Herlinda's story

Josefa Herlinda C. T. is 49 years old, married and makes a living as an artisan making sneakers. She has a small shop along with her husband, with whom she has had four children. She has been dedicated to her craft for eight years in the Paraje Chicha commune in the Totonicapán region of Guatemala. Currently, her customers' demands have grown, but her current economic condition is not sufficient to meet them, which is why she is turning to Kiva partner Asociación ASDIR to help her increase her capital. She is requesting a loan with the goal of purchasing two industrial sewing machines to better facilitate her work so she can meet her customers' demands and also generate more jobs in her community. This will increase her earnings and give her family a better life.
