Maria L. is a member of the Grupo Unido Communal Bank. She is 45 years old and was born in La Libertad. She sells food in the Zona D. Maria is known in her town for the delicious stews she prepares to the delight of her customers, allowing her to also grow personally.

She started as a member of the Communal Bank 4 years ago, looking for support to invest in the improvement of her business. She achieved her goal thanks not only to Edaprospo’s financial support, but also to the team work offered by the group that she leads. The Grupo Unido Communal Bank is currently in the second phase of their first loan cycle, disbursing the amount of S/.7,700.00 to a total of 10 group members. They mostly sell dairy products (milk and cheese) from Canta Province because it is nearby and the low product costs generate better profits.

Maria’s goal is to have a restaurant where she could proviD. her customers better service and comfort, while also generating a better income for the growth and well-being of her family.
