A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase iron, springs, and paint to manufacture beds.

Juana Ruth's story

Juana S. is 49 years old, and lives in Laureles Sur a neighborhood in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. She has nine children of which four are younger and studying; her husband is the right hand of her small micro-enterprise in which they manufacture beds, dressers, and other iron based pieces. As a couple they have plans to continue expanding their enterprise, which would afford them with better living conditions. For the past eight years running their metallurgy business, they have run into difficulties having to do with a lack of financing for which they have been thankful for the loans that Afodenic has granted them. This will be their tenth loan cycle, which will be used to purchase basic materials such as: iron, springs, paints, and other items that they use to manufacture beds. This will allow them to sell higher quantities and increase their profits.
