Shafqat Younas Masih Group's story

Shafqat baji is a wife of Y. M., who has lived in Borewala, Pakistan for the past 10 years. Borewala is famous for its shrines. Shafqat's husband is a delivery man by profession and delivers different items (fruits & vegetables). He has 3 years of experience in this business. Shafqat baji also runs a soft-toy-making business. She makes different animals (bear, cat, and dog) from cotton. Her toys are popular with kids. She is applying for a loan to buy a new donkey cart for her husband's business. The old cart has become rough and rotted in different areas.

She is the group leader of five other women from her locality. Razia baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Parveen baji wants a loan to buy material (lentils, cooking oil and spices) for her food-selling business. Najma baji wants a loan to buy supplies (wires, switch boards and switches and tube lights) for her electric shop. Ramzana baji wants a loan to buy iron for her iron-rod-making business. Rubina baji wants a loan to buy a sewing machine to sew clothes.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee each other's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
