A loan of $1,750 helped a member buy groceries for grocery shop.

Khalida Muhammad Afzal Group's story

My name is Khalida and my husband is M. A., We both have been living in Borewala, Pakistan for the past 25 years. My husband runs a grocery shop in the community. He has four years of experience in this business. I also operate a sewing clothes business to share the financial burden. I’m applying for a loan to buy groceries to diversify my husband’s grocery shop. I’m the group leader of six other women.

Shakeela wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Nasreen Kosar wants a loan to buy material (dry fruits, cooking oil and sugar) for her sweetmeat selling business. Gulzaran wants a loan to buy decoration pieces to sell. Sajida Aziz wants a loan to buy stationary (pens, pencils and notebooks) to sell. Abida Parveen wants a loan to buy cosmetics to sell. Naseem Akhtar wants a loan to buy cigarette packs to sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among members, each of whom will invest in her own business. Members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
