A loan helped to buy more bales of clothes to sell.

Nancy's story

Nancy is a single mother who lives in Nairobi with her three children. She is 48 years old and her children are 18, 16 and 15 years old. She works hard to cater for her children's school fees and upkeep.
Nancy is a secondhand-clothes seller. She has been doing this business since her children were small and she enjoys it very much. She has blended with the job quite well and does it so articulately that people just admire how she goes about it.

Nancy makes good sales each and every day and has got quite a number of clientele. She buys clothes in bales and later opens them to sell in pieces. This gives her good returns. Her challenge is meeting all her clients' demands due to their vast number. With a Kiva loan, Nancy will buy more bales of clothes thus better equipping her business to give effective services to her clients. She is a very hardworking lady and she will pay her loan in a short period of time as she has done the previous loan. Her first loan went toward the growth of her business which is well established now. Her dream is to expand her business and give her children a comfortable life.

This loan is special because:

It gives financial access to low income micro-entrepreneurs.
