A loan of $675 helped to buy clothing. To buy groceries. To repair her motorcyle.

Leili's story

Leili M. M. belongs to “The Flowers” cooperative bank. She lives in the Yarinacocha district, is 36 years old, and has 4 children, 2 of whom are now grown. She started out selling seafood in the street using a tricycle. Her first loan of 300.00 soles was 3 years ago, and she used the funds to buy fish and to strengthen her business. Due to a few inconveniences, she left the enterprise for a time and today finds herself selling groceries and clothing door-to-door. She does this with the help of a motorcycle she uses for transportation. With this loan of 2,000.00 soles she will invest in the purchase of more clothing and groceries. Part of the funds will also be used to maintain her mode of transportation (motorcycle). In the small amount of time she has been with Manuela Ramos, she feels glad for the help given to women so they can try to get ahead. Thanks to this support, she can help her children and take care of the finances of her household.
