Mecedes's story

Mercedes is a member of the community bank “Las Fronterizas” in the Desaguadero district, in the province of Chucuito, in the Puno department. She is 31 years old, has two children, and has an incomplete secondary education. She has worked for three years with the Manuela Ramos Movement and started her juice business with her first loan of 300 soles. This made her happy because it helped her cover her household expenses. With this loan of 3,000 soles, she will be able to grow her juice selling business by purchasing new equipment, accessories, and fruit such as oranges, bananas, pineapple, and papaya. She will also purchase other ingredients such as sugar, carob, and eggs. This will contribute to improving the quality of education of her children.
