A loan of $5,350 helped a member to buy sheep for fattening and resale.

Je Ka Baara Group's story

Sitan is a woman from Mali, 59 years of age. She left school in the third year of the primary level. She is dark-skinned. Sitan is married and has six children, all of whom are in school. She finds RMCR loans attractive because she has been able to buy sheep with her earlier savings. Her dream is to buy working oxen to help her husband, thanks to the revenues from loans she obtains from RMCR.

Sitan is the one holding a ram by his cord in the photo. She is taking out a loan with RMCR in order to buy sheep for fattening. [She] stocks up at nearby markets and sells her animals at the same markets after fattening them. Her revenues from the sale of sheep will allow her to cover the costs of healthcare, food and clothing for her children. Sitan has had no issues with her RMXR loan. She is determined to keep growing her business in order to achieve her dream one day and improve the quality of her life in the village.
