Nadeem's story

Nadeem, 54, is an educated man with a bachelors degree. He is married and lives with his wife and five children in Sana'a, Yemen.

Both Nadeem and his wife work in the public sector and have monthly salaries; however, what they earn is not enough to cover the expenses of their family, especially after the high increase in prices of all goods due to the current war. Living expenses have increased also because of the absence of public services, like the supply of electricity and water. Nadeem has to secure these utilities from other expensive sources. Nadeem's children are suffering a lot due to lack of electricity for over 16 months. Living without electricity is difficult and hard to cope with.

In order to end the suffering of his family, Nadeem has decided to apply for a 220,000 YER loan from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank to purchase two 150W solar panels, a 150 amp battery, a solar charge controller, a DC/AC LED TV, bulbs and cables.

Nadeem is looking forward to the end of this war and being able to repair his house.
