Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Maria De Los Angeles's story

Mrs. Maria de los Ángeles C. is 47 years old and lives in the San Ignacio neighborhood of Ticuantepe.

Maria and her husband, who works as a driver, have four children. Two of their children are married and work as bricklayers and two live at home. They would like to improve their living conditions and provide a better life for their family.

Maria has sold electric appliances around the country for 15 years. The biggest problem she faces is lack of financing. With this loan, she plans to increase her inventory by buying enough appliances to keep up with demand.
