Madelyn A. is from the village of San Carlos in the municipality of Tukuran, which is in the Zamboanga del Sur province of the Philippines. She is 28 years-old and married with one infant child. To make a living, Madelyn provides pedicab transportation services. Madelyn has been engaged in her business for over 2 years and earns approximately 4000 PHP a month.
Madelyn joined GDMPC in 2008 with hopes of gaining access to financial services that would help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Madelyn successfully repaid a previous loan of 5000 PHP from GDMPC. This previous loan was used to to purchase an additional pedicab for the business. Madelyn is now requesting her second loan from GDMPC and plans to use the extra income from growing her business to help improve her family's living conditions.
