Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,850 helped to purchase meat from the wholesale markets.

Tsog's story

Tsog T. has been running a butcher stall in the local food market since 1998. He usually purchases beef from the wholesale markets in Ulaanbaatar and packages the meat in smaller portions for individual sale. He has more than ten years of experience in the business and his butcher stall is distinguished from other retailers in that he uses hygienic plastic packages for his meat retail.

Tsog lives with his wife and his infant child in the Bayanzurh district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Tsog remarried three years ago. His wife is currently attending university. Tsog would like to work with his wife, once she is done school, and open another butcher shop. Tsog requests a loan to purchase more meat from the wholesale markets for his business.
