Samuel's story

Samuel S. is 46 years old. He is married and has six children: three daughters and three sons. He lives with his wife and children in a rented apartment in a town called Kofiase. Kofiase is a farming/trading community near Dormaa, the district capital, in the Brong Ahafo region. Samuel says his children are currently in junior high and primary school. His wife is a farmer.

Samuel is a commercial driver. He drives a taxi cab. He conveys goods and people to and from his community and other nearby communities. He works from morning to evening. He says his car, which is his only source of income, is virtually broken down and so he wants a loan to have it repaired and maintained. Samuel has been driving more than 15 years. Samuel is hoping to maintain the car and improve his standard of living. He is also hoping to give his children a sound education.
