Janet

A loan of $650 helped to buy a bulk supply of eggs and hair extensions, etc.

Janet's story

Janet is 38 years old; she is married and mother of four children. Her husband is a farmer. All her children are in school, possibly because of government free compulsory education. She is a very hard-working young mother who works all day by dressing hair and selling eggs to provide for her children. Janet operates hair dressing salon in front of her house and also sells crates of eggs there.

Currently she concentrates more resources on the eggs sales because patronization of the hair salon has been low. She has been in the egg business for 22 years now. She takes stocks of eggs from the poultry farmers and retails to her customers at retail prices. Demand for her goods is on the high side but she doesn't have adequate cash to buy more. She is therefore appealing to you for your support to buy more eggs. It is her desire to help her husband in taking care of the children's education needs. She belongs to the village bank called ‘Promise’.
