A loan helped to buy some supplies with which to build a new latrine and dig a pond.

Nat's story

Nat is an experienced farmer who lives in Kbal Chrouy Village, Kampong Phnum Commune, Leuk Daek District, Kandal Province. She is a proud mother of five children. Four of her children are still under her financial care, while the fifth child is married.

Nat grows cucumbers on her farmland and her husband is also a farmer, but he grows corn. Both of them have always tried hard in their careers in order to improve their lives, with a net profit about 10 USD per day.

This season, Nat is planning to build a new latrine for her family to use. She wants to buy some supplies, such as bricks, sand, and steel, but she doesn't have enough money yet. For this reason, she is making a decision to borrow a loan from Kiva via HKL to buy some supplies, with a portion of the loan being used to build a new latrine and the other portion of the loan being used to dig a pond.

She hopes to see a new latrine and a pond at her house soon. She is thankful to all lenders for their generosity.

This loan is special because:

It helps prevent the spread of disease by providing clean drinking water and sanitation.
