A loan helped to buy agricultural supplies permitting him to have a good harvest this year.

Santos Amado's story

Santos is a resident in northern Nicaragua. He has 16 years experience in coffee growing, not including the years he worked as a day laborer long before he had his own farm. He has a small plot of 2.46 hectares of coffee grown under the fair trade certification process.

With the technical support of the association with which he is affiliated, he has created a nutritional management plan for his coffee plantation, so he needs a loan to buy agricultural supplies permitting him to have a good harvest this year. This will allow him to improve the financial situation of his family.

His goal is to continue improving his small farm and expanding his coffee fields in order to continue growing and creating opportunities for his family.
