A loan helped to hire labor and buy more crop seedlings for her and her husband's farm.

Peace's story

Peace is a hardworking married woman with six children living in Kamwenge, Uganda.

She and her husband deal in crop production, where they mainly grow maize, bananas and beans. They also make drums, from which they get extra income. Their vision is to expand their business and diversify it. However, they are faced with a challenge of drought and price fluctuations.

They are requesting a loan to hire labor and buy more crop seedlings for their farm. The photo is of Peace and her husband, who work and move together, arguing that since they wedded, they became one.

This loan is special because:

It targets extremely rural populations.
