Doeurn's Group
In this Group: Doeurn, Soth, Sot
This small loan is being requested by three borrowers, all of whom live in Konh Taing Commune in Siem Reap Province. Mrs. Doeurn R., 47, has been selected as the group leader by the other members. Doeurn R. grows different kinds of crops, and she sells the produce to the buyers every three months after she begins planting them. She is the mother of two children who are enrolled in the local primary school. To support the family's food needs a little more, her husband works as a domestic building worker. The family spends a lot of money on taxi for touring requirements. They hope to reduce the transportation cost, which is why Doeurn R. is seeking a loan added with her personal saving to purchase a motorcycle to transport her produce to the market for sale.

N. sells pork in the local market and she requests a loan to buy additional pork for sale. S. is a grocery seller, who is applying for a loan to increase her business capital.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
