Sumera M. Ashraf Group's story

Sumera baji is the wife of M. A.. They have lived in a city named Kasur in Pakistan for the past 15 years. Kasur city is famous for its sweetmeat. Her husband has a clothes-selling business. He buys clothes from cities (Multan and Lahore) and sells them in Kasur to earn income. Sumera baji is a very supportive lady. She sews clothes to share the financial burden with him. She is applying for a loan to buy clothes to expand her husband’s clothes-selling business.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Parvaiz baji, Lubna baji, Abida baji and Farzana baji each want a loan to buy clothes for their clothes-selling businesses.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
