A loan helped buy material to make more garments.

Nelida's story

Nelida, 36, has experienced many sacrifices in order to support her two daughters; Mayumi, 14; and Lesly, 8. She lives in her own house with her 29 year old husband, Richard.

Throughout her life she has worked hard to give her family the necessary comforts. She currently makes and distributes jogging suits. She makes pants and jackets to distribute in different markets in the city of Juliaca.

Nelida really likes making and creating new styles, even though it is difficult and takes time to put the articles together piece by piece in the hopes that they fit well. She has been doing this for seven years. In the future, she hopes to have her own place where she can sell her clothing. This way she can improve her earnings and give her family a more decent life.

This is Nelida’s third loan with MFP. She is very confidant that she will be able to make all of her payments on time. With her community bank she is very calm. She enjoys working as a team with the rest of her colleagues. With the 2,500 PEN she will buy fabric to make more jogging suits to distribute to other places.
