Adela's story

Adela, 56, is a fighter and a hard worker. She lives in her own house with her husband, Pedro, who is 46. They have been together for a very long time. They have three children; Nely, 30; Edwin, 28; and Elizabeth, 25. What she wants most of all is to live her old age tranquilly by her husband’s siD..

She sells polleras (skirts), shawls, and aprons. Her stand is located in the San José market (an important market in the city of Juliaca). The market is very well attended by customers since the articles she sells are a very good quality and a reasonable price.

What she likes best about her work is talking to the neighboring vendors who always keep her well informed of what is happening in the market. She has been doing this for fifteen years. What she likes the least if having to stay all day insiD. her stand without being able to do anything else.

Adela aspires to have a bigger clothing store in the future. Then she could sell more comfortably. She sacrifices a lot for her work, but she feels very secure in being able to continue and reach her goals.

This is her second loan with MFP. She was very punctual with her first loan, and she expects to do the same this time as well. She is an active member of her community bank who always participates in the meetings.
