A loan of $675 helped purchase more sheep.

Carmela's story

CarmeL. is 37 years old and lives with her children in her own house. She comes from a family of farmers and has worked the land since she was a child. She still lives in the town where she was born and has the land she inherited from her parents. She uses it to earn an income and support her family. She gets up early every day to take care of her animals, which she will sell, along with manure, at livestock markets in the area. At harvest time, she sells her products by direct sale in the market, thereby earning more profit. Her male children help her with the harder tasks like lifting and moving sacks. In the future, CarmeL. wants to have more sheep and young bulls so they produce more manure to sell. This is her 14th loan with MFP. She is one of the longest standing members of her communal bank, and the one that always works towards collaboration. That is why she is renewing her commitment to continue for the well being of her group. CarmeL. requests money to purchase sheep so she can have more animals.
