A loan helped a member to build a latrine for her family.

Mut's Group's story

Mut is 44 years old and lives with her family in Kampong Thom province, and she is a mother of three dependent children. To support her family, she plants cassava and has been working as paid a worker since 2008. She can save up to 3 USD each day for future needs.

Mut lacks the capital to improve her cassava planting because of drought. For her group, this is their second loan cycle with VisionFund. She has been able to send her children to higher education and provide her family with a better lifestyle with help from her previous loan.

As a group leader, which consists of two members, Mut is applying for a new loan to build a latrine for her family home. She hopes this loan will help not only provide her family with good health but also upgrade her family’s standard of living.

In this group: Mut, Taing

This loan is special because:

It provides low-income families with access to clean drinking water and sanitation.
