A loan helped a member to purchase breeding pigs and food for the pigs.

Tan's Group's story

Tan, a Thai ethnic woman, has been in the M7-MFI program since 2005 (starting in M7’s forerunner). She is living with her husband, her two sons and her daughter-in-law in Mai Son district, Son La province.

Her family’s main income is from cultivation and breeding; it is just enough to cover the living expenses of the family and to save a small amount. She wants to raise pigs to get additional income for the family but she does not have enough money to buy breeding pigs and foodstuff for pigs. Therefore, she wants to obtain a loan for this purpose.

She hopes that the loan amount will help her family invest effectively in the breeding at high productivity, and when selling the first pig herd it will bring her family a considerable profit.
