A loan of $575 helped to buy turkeys to raise.

Ajka's story

Ajka comes from a suburb of the town of Banovići. She is 51 years old and lives with her husband; their children are adults and live away from the parents' home. Ajka works as a cleaning lady in a local school; her husband is employed too.

Ajka, like most Bosnian women, has a garden where she produces vegetables for her own use. Besides that, Ajka has one hobby - raising turkeys. Turkey meat is very popular and healthy and Ajka keeps always two or three for her own use. But now she has decided to make more out of her hobby and she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner MFI, WWI, in the amount of 800 KM, to purchase more turkeys to raise for resale.
