A loan of $8,000 helped to buy a generator and some fabrics to sell.

Guerlie's story

Guerlie was born into a middle-class family of tailors. She remembers watching her mother and her father sewing clothes early in her childhood. At 12 years old, Guerlie started to sew skirt seams for her neighbor's children. As she grows, this sector has become her passion, and now she owns one of the strongest clothing workshops in her neighborhood.

Guerlie has been a successful client for Zafen for years. Recently, she requested a loan to purchase a generator and fabric in bulk to retail. The development of that activity will allow her to generate more profits. Moreover, she will continue to offer free training to thirteen (13) low-level seamstresses.

This loan is special because:

It provides small and growing businesses in Haiti with access to capital.
