Maura's story

Maura is a member of the "Rio Desaguadero" community bank of the district of Desaguadero in the province of Chucuito, district of Puno. She is 31 years old, partnered and has one child. She did not complete high school (3rd year of high school).

She has been working with the Manuela Ramos organization for 10 years. She owns her own business, buying and selling kitchen utensils. Her first loan was for 300 soles which she invested as additional capital.

Due to customer demand, she now needs a loan of 3000 soles in order to invest in the purchase of kitchen utensils, knives, dishes, pots, cups, vacuum flasks, plates in order to increase her income and to help her family. She says that she is working with double the capital because she is not paid cash, instead she gets paid settled every 15 days. She also sells eggs. Her wish is to open a store to sell utensils and glassware wholesale.

Maura is very happy to be saving money and of having her group's respect.
