Vilma Elida's story

Ms. R. is a member of the “Las Fronterizas” microfinance institute in the district of Desaguadero of the Chucuito province, department of Puno. She is a 33-year-old married mother with three children. She also completed high school.


She has been working with the Manuela Ramos movement for three years. She started her food sales (chicken) business with a 300.00 PEN loan. With this 3,000.00 PEN loan, she will purchase more provisions and supplies necessary to restock her business, thus she can contribute to improving the quality of her children’s education because she wants them to become professionals.


Ms. R. really likes the meetings and orientations that Manuela Ramos gives them. She says that they give her the encouragement she needs to keep moving forward.
