Antra's story

I am a management professional with 20 years of Top Management and Project Management experience in Production, Retail, Operations and Quality Management, a native of Northern Europe's Latvia. I came to the US 4 years ago for an exciting business project and, in spite of lacking contacts and local experience, launched a new business in California in less than 3 months.
I never had a plan to stay in the US for more than 3-5 years, but I met my current husband, a native Californian, and now I have family on both sides of the globe.

Latvia is too cold to grow grapes, but its wine drinking culture is well known. I loved wine long before I arrived in California, but only here, together with my UC Davis graduate husband who took his first wine class before even turning 21, I fell in love with the thought that wine could and should be much more than a hobby.

For the last two years, my husband and I have been traveling to wine countries, meeting wine makers, tasting the noble juice and learning how to emphasize each wine's unique character through pairing it with foods. By now, we have established knowledge and valuable contacts in the wine industry to be ready for the next step - our own wine tasting room, wine shop and wine bar in the SF Bay Area.

Our vision is to help SMALL wine makers to get more exposure and grow, as their volume and budget is insufficient to use distributors or large retailers. We also want to promote wine enjoyment as a healthier alternative over other alcoholic beverages through better information, education and fun.
