A loan of $3,000 helped to become a full service salon.

Griselda's story

My name is Griselda and 18 years ago, my brother and I opened a beauty salon on International Blvd. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved doing hair and knew I wanted to be a hairstylist. I worked hard and got my license in 1995. I decided to continue my education through all those years, taking classes with Vidal Sassoon and other stylists to continuously grow my skills as a stylist. I have also continued to grow as a business woman by participating in business trainings through organizations like Centro Community Partners and the Propel Program. I have been working with The Unity Council for 5 years and will continue to do so as they are a great liaison for businesses to find trainings and opportunities for growth.

As the years passed, I decided to relocate, and as of May 2014, I am now at a bigger and better place on the ground floor. I hired two full time employees and 1 contractor to better serve my community and saw an increase in my revenue.

I love my job! My inspiration is the way I make people feel when I am done with their look. I would like to continue to grow by giving my customers the best service. I am in need of a loan of $3,000 to provide my clients with more services. I would like to add a full service make-up studio to complement the hairstyling services we offer for special occasions. The Leos Salon offers wonderful package deals for customers’ convenience.
