A loan of $200 helped purchase food stock for my business and renovate my business.

Barnabas's story

I grew up in Huruma slum where life was a constant struggle. I was in a family of seven children and our father didnt work. My mother was the sole breadwinner and her earnings as a vegetable vendor were not enough to cater for our needs. After completing high school i started playing professional football ( soccer) but ended my career early due to severe injury. I tried my hand at other small businesses before finally settling to open a food kiosk. I live with my wife, three children and a cousin who depends on me. My dreams for the future is to expand my food kiosk and turn it into a big hotel or restaurant with several branches
