A loan helped get my BBQ catering off the ground to handle any volume of catering.

Azar's story

Greetings, my name is Azar Jones. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and BBQ has always been a part of my life. My parents once owned two BBQ restaurants named Goldie's Oakwood BBQ, one in East Palo Alto and the other in San Jose, CA. My family owned these businesses for many years until my father passed away in 1996.

I have always enjoyed cooking for people, which is why I've decided to re-open my parents BBQ restaurant as an online catering business. Another big reason is because there aren't a lot of authentic, family owned BBQ places in the Bay Area anymore, and none in San Francisco. I want to bring back the old school southern style of Oakwood smoked BBQ of my parents and their generation.

I'm currently getting consistent business and wish to increase my volume. To accomplish this I need more equipment and a larger smoker to handle caterings on a bigger scale. There are other minor miscellaneous items that I need to get, but a bigger BBQ smoker is the most important item. I believe that once you have a vision, there isn't anything to stop you from succeeding!
