Dao Thi's story

Sáu Đào Thị (101920011) is a 50-year-old woman living in the town of Sóc Sơn. She is married and has three adult children. To making a living, Sáu owns & operates a business venture in the manufacturing sector operating a furniture making business. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from making & selling general household furniture to local businesses and community members. Sáu has been engaged in this business for over 10 years and earns approximately 5,000,000 Vietnamese Dong (about US $281) a month from these activities.

In 1992, Sáu joined TYM Fund to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Sáu has successfully repaid a previous loan from TYM Fund. This previous loan was used to purchase machinery to expand the business. Sáu is now requesting a new loan of 20,000,000 dong which will be used to purchase additional raw materials to expand product offerings. The loan will be the twelfth loan she has taken out from TYM Fund. Sáu plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
