A loan of $5,000 helped purchase the supplies needed to construct the interior of our mobile music store.

Amy's story

Picture a little, third grade girl begging her parents to let her rock out on the drums: that's me. My parents were hesitant to enroll me in lessons and purchase the expensive music equipment in fear that my interest would be a short-lived phase, but once I picked up my first pair of drumsticks I never put them down. My musical interest expanded to learning other instruments and attending live music events whenever possible. Music is the root of my happiness and inspiration, as it is for many others.

I graduated from college with a degree in business administration and an economics minor. After graduating, I moved to NYC where I landed a few different music marketing internships and then a full-time marketing position for a music composition and sound design company. My entrepreneurial spirit was begging for attention, so I then took on a position helping two small business owners run coffee shops throughout Manhattan. The owners became tremendous mentors as I further developed my own business plans.

I packed up and headed west to California because I knew Southern California would be the most ideal location for the beginnings of Beat Cruiser. Opening a retail music lifestyle store is something that I am incredibly dedicated to and passionate about. I'm just your average music lover who experiences such joy from seeing the positive impact music can have on other fellow music lovers. My intent is to create a unique environment that will encourage self-expression, and Beat Cruiser is the perfect vehicle for spreading this inspiration.
