A loan of $5,000 helped install a handicapped ramp and purchase a new sign for my Adult Day Care Center.

Kristie's story

I was born in Flint, Michigan and live in the same house where my two younger brothers and I were raised. As children, we were taught to have a positive outlook on life, and that you only live once, so you may as well be happy.

After graduating from High School, I worked at Mott Community College for 8 years, General Motors for 2 years, then hired into the US Federal Bankruptcy Court as a court recorder and retired with 30 years of service on March 31, 2012.

My husband and I raised a wonderful son, and we have two grandchildren, a Grandson that is 16 years old and a Granddaughter that is 7 years old. Grandchildren are a gift and a blessing. I love spending time with them. We like to go camping, hiking and and enjoy the water.

I lost my Mom to Alzheimer's Disease in 2003, and that gave me the inspiration to get involved in the Senior Community. KristiesKare is the perfect solution for those who do not need assisted living and are home alone. My Mission Statement for the Adult Day Care Center I own and operate is: to provide a safe, compassionate and positive environment for our Seniors. The key word is compassionate.

I helped care for my Grandfather when I was young, at the early age of 8 years old after he had a stroke and was to live the balance of his life in a wheel chair. I loved caring for him and nothing has changed. I will go the extra mile for individuals and have a soft spot in my heart for both the older and younger generation.

With funds available to advertise the business, I feel that we could recruit Seniors that could benefit from this business.
