A loan of $250 helped buy a working table to create more space for my employees to work.

David Khakasa's story

I was born in Nakuru Bondeni and we moved to Nairobi Mathare Valley in the early 70's. It was not easy because my father had separated with my mother. We were 3 boys under the care of my father. I went to school in Muthurwa Primary where I used to walk for 7 Kms every morning and evening. While walking to school everyday I observed that there was alot of used charcoal on the way so I created a habbit of collecting the charcoal so that we can reuse at home and enable my father to save the money he would have otherwise used for charcoal. I used to play football for various clubs like Vihiha, AFC Leopards and Utalii but I quit in 1990 to start my current business. I hope that it grows exponentially.
