A loan of $3,000 helped paint my shop, and buy mannequins and inventory.

Rixi's story

My name is Rixi Martinez and I am from Nacaome Valle in Honduras. I moved to America in the year 2000, and I left my parents and four boys there. I wanted to try and get a better life for them, and now I send money back home to them.

I was working in a gas station at nights for 4 years, never taking a day off. Then in the mornings I would go to flea markets and sell things to try and make some more money. Then I started selling at flea markets full-time -- 7 days a week. All this time I was dreaming of being my own boss, and now I have my own business -- Rixi's Boutique. Although I still work 7 days a week!

In the future, if it's possible, I would love to open another shop in a different location -- so I would have two, or even more!
