A loan of $5,000 helped buy televised advertisements from the CW Network, print advertisements in local newspapers and fashion magazines, and to secure a PR & Marketing firm to help with promoting the etiquette & modeling classes for the youth.

Rose's story

I grew up in Rocky Mount, NC with my father, mother and three brothers. I have had a passion for modeling since childhood but my parents didn't want me to get caught up with the wrong people in the modeling industry. After college I got married and moved to Atlanta with my husband and decided to pursue a career in modeling. I have an entrepreneurial spirit just like my father and grandfather, who were entrepreneurs. I then worked as a contract employee for The Coca-Cola Company and started modeling for the company doing their trade shows and the company publications for print advertising. My passion led me to do fashion shows with Macy's, Belk, Saks Fifth Avenue and America's Mart and continued on to doing commercials, print advertising, film and TV. My mother became ill with Alzheimer’s at an early age of 57 years old and I brought her to Atlanta to care for her. This slowed my career in modeling but I continued to model through all of the trials.
