A loan helped to buy embroidery raw materials for her embroidery business.

Zeenat's story

Zeenat is a 48-year-old woman living with her four sons and three daughters in the area of Multan, Pakistan. Zeenat’s husband is responsible to fulfill the needs of the entire family, but Zeenat has been running an embroidery business since seven years ago to meet the other expenses.

Her native language is Punjabi, which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in a rented room made of brick that has drinking water, electricity, and plumbing.

Her embroidery business is very famous in the colony, and that is the reason her business runs well. Due to good relations, her business has increased.

Zeenat wants to meet the demand for bridal dresses. That is why she wants to buy threads, fancy cloths, sequins, and pearls of various colors in advance, to have in stock. She requires some capital to buy the desired items but does not have sufficient cash on hand. The challenge Zeenat is facing is to have sufficient capital to run the business and to be able support her family in its present form.

Therefore, Zeenat humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan. Through this loan, she will be able to buy the threads, fancy cloths, sequins, and pearls of various colors that she needs.

Zeenat and her family will be thankful to Kiva, its lenders and field partner BRAC Pakistan for helping them by funding this loan to improve their living standards.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
