A loan of $1,475 helped to purchase potato seeds and organic fertilizer to plant in greater quantity and to improve her income for her family.

Concepcion's story

Concepción is from a community which is far from the town and she works in agriculture with her two daughters. They have worked in agriculture for 25 years on farmland inherited from her parents. She grows carrots, peanuts, and potatoes in small quantities, from which she gets her income which is not enough to sustain her family since her husband left her some time ago. The community where she works the land has irrigation for agricultural production, but due to a lack of economic resources, Concepción does not have the money to purchase a greater quantity of seeds and fertilizer to grow in greater quantity. So, what they grow only is enough to sustain the family and they have toinvest. Sometimes the woman has to work as a day laborer on other nearby land in the community. Concepción also works as an assistant cook when the harvest and planting season is done. For these reasons mentioned, Concepción needs the help to be able to purchase potato seeds and organic fertilizer to plant in greater quantity and to improve her income and have a better future for her daughters and, so, to help them with their studies.
