Inocencia's story

Inocencia is a member of the Manuela Ramos Bank in the Mazocruz district, Collao province, Puno department. She is 74, married, and has 2 children. She lives in the Barrio 3 de Mayo. She is illiterate. She has been working with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for 12 years. She started with a loan for 300 PEN, which allowed her to increase her business of buying and selling “auquénido” (a species between the llama and the vicuna). She currently needs a loan for 700 PEN to buy more livestock and be able to keep working. She likes the community bank meetings because she receives training on interesting topics.
