Sopha's Group's story

A farmer who is living in Ponhea Krek district of Tbaung Khmum province, Sopha, aged 31 years old. She is a married mother of two children who are depending on her and they are in school. She tries hard to earn income via rice farming and cassava planting as the important sources of her family income. She has been involved with these businesses around 8 years and it allows her to save about 4 USD each day after deducting from daily expense. Due to having not enough working capital to support on her businesses is the main challenge for her.

To solve this problem, she decides to form a new group of two members to apply for a loan with VisionFund. This is the fifth loans cycle for her while it is the sixth loans cycle for her group member. She has paid back all the past loans already and she has used it to improve her living condition as well. As the leader, Sopha will use her loan portion to buy fertilizer in order to grow her crop well. In the future, she hopes to earn more income to support her children’s education.
