A loan of $1,100 helped to buy flour, corn, sugar, cheeses, dairy products, etc..

Catalina's story

Catalina O. de Santacruz is 52 and married to Arnaldo Santacruz, 53. She lives in her house with her husband and their three children, who are single and still studying for their college degrees.

Catalina is a retired teacher. When she stopped teaching, she felt like she needed to start a business since she had a strong desire to keep working. She opened a mini-market in her house with the help of her husband, who had experience with sales since he had earned his living selling fruits and vegetables. Nowadays the store is self-service with lots of customers, and her children work there, too, to earn money to pay for their studies.

Catalina is seeking a loan at this time to buy flour, sugar, cheeses, dairy products, and starch to increase her stock for the holidays, when demand will be high.
