Oem M. is forty-five years old and married. She lives with seven of her children in the Kampong Cham province. She and her husband work a farm and breed ducks, typically making $6 each day. Her family is also supported by two of the children who work in the fields. The weather conditions have been difficult for farming in Cambodia this past year and inflation has also been out of control. These factors have created a difficult economic year for many Cambodians, Oem M. included. In light of these economic difficulties, she is asking for a loan to purchase feed for her ducks, a purchase that she believes can bring an increase to her daily income.
