A loan of $1,750 helped a member to pay the plowing fee in order to grow her rice crop.

Chhoeub's Group's story

Chhoeub, 37 years old, is a mother with four dependent children. She is a resident of Siem Reap province. She does rice farming which is the primary source of her family's income. During her spare time, she works as a paid worker to earn extra income to feed her children.

Chhoeub has been involved with the rice business for years. After deducting her daily spending, she can save 5 USD each day from her current business. Her crops have produced a low yield this year because they were destroyed by insects and drought.

This is the second loan cycle for Chhoeub. After she paid back the past loan already, she decided to form a new group which consists of four members to apply for a new loan. Being the group leader, Chhoeub will manage her loan portion to pay for the plowing fee in order to grow her rice crop. In the future, she hopes that her crop will grow well and earn her more income than last year.

In this group: Chhoeub, Phally, Sokhy, Lam

This loan is special because:
